First week back: Djarindjin, One Arm Point & Beagle Bay

Last week we kicked off on our first term program along the peninsula with volleyball, cricket, soccer AND basketball! Our West Kimberley team have been supporting a number of PE classes, as well as running after-school programs in Beagle Bay, Djarindjin and One Arm Point. Throughout the week we had over 100 kids participate in our programs.

In One Arm Point, Djuan, Jordan and Nick ran a few team building exercises in the afternoon as part of a community engagement initiative. A particular Garnduwa favourite is our Marshmellows for Teamwork game, where teams are given a bag of spaghetti, sticky tape and some marshmellows to build a tower! It’s always a lot of fun, and a great way for young people to practise working together, getting creative and showing leadership (in sometimes very sticky situations!).

It was wonderful to see so many kids from Sacred Heart in Beagle Bay participating, the Garnduwa boys are hitting the road today for week two!
