International Women's Day in Ardyaloon
Helen Ockerby and Amanda Gregory from our Broome office attended the Woombooriny Amboon Angarriiya Partnership Initiative #IWD2021 Women's Forum, organised by Community Navigators for women and communities along the Dampier Peninsula.
It was a fantastic day in Ardyaloon, with 67 women coming from Beagle Bay, Djarindjin and One Arm Point to celebrate and talk about what Int. Women's Day means to them. We talked about grassroots leadership and bringing change from the community level, as well as listening to a lot of stories from local role models. WAAPI coordinated a powerful event, facilitating a lot of important conversations advocating for positive change in the region.
