kimberley spirit

The Kimberley region’s recognised talent pathway for Australian Rules Football. Prioritising on and off-field development.

why Pathway Development?

Talent development pathways provide an incredible opportunity for participants to experience rounded and varied growth in many aspects of their lives. Engaging in sport and recreation on a consistent basis has short and long-term impacts on mental and physical wellbeing, learning and development and social and cultural connection. When natural talent and interest in elite athletic development are promoted it provides a context for, educational, personal and character development to flourish.

The right program can promote healthy lifestyles, education, employment, and leadership and provide a sense of purpose and belonging for participants.

About the program

The Kimberley Spirit Program feeds into the West Australian Football Commission Talent & Development Programs.

There are three components to the Program; Male Under 16s, Male Under 19s and Female U19s.

Players are identified through Kimberley Spirit Training Hubs, Local Football Leagues, and School and Community Competitions. Players are supported through their football development – on the field and off the field, to provide them with the best opportunity to reach their goals and potential through Football, Education and/or Employment.
